“Vitruvian Maria” (Metropolis) Screen Print on Sale!

Inspired by Fritz Lang’s 1927 masterpiece Metropolis and Leonardo da Vinci’s Vitruvian Man, I am proud to present my limited edition (hand pulled) serigraph titled VITRUVIAN MARIA.

It’s a 7-color screen print on high quality Coventry Rag paper.  I worked with a San Diego fine arts screen printer to produce this serigraph, limited to sixty (60) prints.

Each print is signed and numbered and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity. In addition, the screen printer’s mark is located in the bottom left corner.   It measures 18″ x 24″ (image dimension approximately: 16″ x 21″)

Note: Unfortunately this photograph does NOT capture the true radiance of the print.  The starburst background is silver (actually aluminum powder) which creates a stunning effect when viewed from different angles and in different lights.  Since Metropolis was a (silent) black and white movie, my intention was to keep this design in grayscale.  The silver burst creates a beautiful accent and brings it to life.

Special Note: The image above shows text in the top and bottom margins.  The actual screen print contains NO text as shown above.  Only the printer’s mark, edition number and my signature are referenced in the white borders.
