Rediscovering the Beatles

I’ve always liked the Beatles.  Twist and Shout, Love Me Do, A Day In The Life, Come Together, Let It Be and yes, even All You Need Is Love are among my favorite songs of all-time.

Recently I edited a video which required Beatles’ music.  Unfortunately I cannot share this video montage with you at this time.  During the post-production, I realized I’ve never purchased any Beatles’ albums in my lifetime.  I’ve only heard Beatles’ songs on the radio.  This void needed to be filled, so I purchased THE BEATLES MONO BOX SET (Limited Edition, Released in 2009) which features their first ten albums remastered (in mono).

This is the way the Beatles were meant to be heard.  I love the mono mix.  The accoustics of Love Me Do are simply beautiful.

My main gripe of today’s music is how can Glee’s cover songs have more number one hits than the Beatles?  Time to get back to basics and remember who the real musicians were.  The ones who set the standard.

Hollywood likes to re-purpose the “old” and think they are doing something original.  Don’t be duped.  Support the originals!
